Our mission is to help Maine families achieve greater economic security through access to employment, training & education and community resources.

We'll help you develop a Career Plan based on your interests and develop your short-term and long-term career goals. While you are working with Families Forward, you will meet with us at least once a month to discuss progress on your plan, next steps, and what supports are needed to reach your goals. Your plan will be updated as needed to reflect any changes made.

We're connected with over 1,700 community partners willing to help you succeed. Every day we're looking for new partners and community resources to help you reach your goals. We also have a comprehensive list of supports available to you to reach your goals.

We work with large and small employers statewide to cultivate career paths in Maine’s growing industries. If you are career-ready, you will work with us 1:1 to find a career. In addition to job-search every month we host a state-wide online Hiring Event to promote opportunities with employers and industries throughout Maine. We also conduct local hiring events to feature opportunities with employers in your community.

We'll help you identify your interests, skills, academic strengths, and need areas as they relate to your career goals. Based on our findings we will provide you with tailored training to ensure your success.

Once you begin working, follow-up services are offered for a minimum of 365 days. We check in with you to discuss your job satisfaction, problem solve any challenges you may have, and coach you towards advancement opportunities. You will also be invited to attend monthly Career Celebration events.

We support you in furthering your education. We'll help you get started with an apprenticeship program, occupational training, on-the-job training, adult education programs, and degree based programs at accredited universities.
